NUTS is the former acronym for NBC Universal Television Studio (now known as Universal Media Studios), which I think would aptly describe the mindset of those working high up in the land of the Universal Peacock.
Their latest decision, to rename the SciFi channel, Syfy. The spin? The new name embraces more of the fantasy element as opposed to the science fiction.
The real reason, as mentioned in the article on TV Tonight (via the Hollywood Reporter), trademark concerns.
