We are the News...in more ways than one

An article in The Age says one thing that I've always found to be true: you can tell a lot about a place by the way that news on television is presented.

It's true even domestically:

New York City - The latest local/state political crisis, unless there's been a car crash or construction accident.

Milwaukee - The latest murder or overblown weather event, unless someone coughed in front of Lambeau Field and therefore must be covered with intensive team coverage.

Los Angeles - The latest evidence that apocalypse will occur somewhere in the Southland.

it's true that the talking heads on television reveal more about their audiences than anything else.
