and what exactly is the scandal with della bosca? is it the extramarital affair? or is it the fact that he was with a woman 27 years his junior? or perhaps it's both elements? to me, the affair is the only scandal. yet, the article seems to put a lot of emphasis on the age difference. and although i agree that the age difference adds some extra "ick" factor to the equation, but it wouldn't be scandalous at all if they were married (though it would still be a little creepy).
It's mostly the reprecussions that it will have on the NSW parliament.
The current premier, Nathan Rees, is not popular and Della Bosca was considered on of the main contenders within the Labor Party to replace him. This scandal pretty much scuppers his chances of that and gives Rees a little bit of a breather.

i'm more curious about what exactly it is the people are up in arms about... the age difference or the affiar or both.
There's not as much furore over the affair as we'd have in the US. (Although there is a collective "ew.")
It's more like this is just another hit in the armour of NSW Labor, which is really in a shambles (though the Liberals are even worse).
That said, the fact that Della Bosca allegedly skipped his duties as Health Minister to be with this young woman.
