The Daily News has a story about The Audition, a show which consists of 11 actors auditioning in the first act, with the second act comprised of the called back actors pairing off and doing cold reads.
Now this seems just a bit too gimmicky for me. For starters, isn't this just A Chorus Line without songs? Secondly, auditions are boring if you aren't participating. The most interesting audition I can remember was when I was cueing the actors for a friend's play, and the actor--who eventually got the role--went to grab my crotch.
I should point out that I had no input.
