A lawyer in Oklahoma is arguing that a bigot preacher "has a right to pick up hustlers," according to this story on 365gay.
What makes this more ludicrous is that the lawyer is using Lawrence v. Texas (the Supreme Court case that overturned sodomy laws) to argue that since there was no money exchanged, that Reverend Latham isn't guilty of any crime when he asked an undercover policeman to go up to his hotel room for a blow job.
While that may be true, and while I do believe that prostitution should be legalised, the fact that this man was the supporter of a homophobic resolution makes me hope that he gets the book thrown at him.
By the way, what the lawyer--if I'm interpreting this correctly--is arguing is not exactly the right to pick up hustlers, but the right to cruise and hook up, 1970's style.
