I don't know what happened but yet another gay television personality is leaving New York [local] television.
Sam Champion is jumping to GMA, a jump that will not include doing local weather duties apparently.
I say he's a wimp--a perfectly nice guy, but still a wimp. Al Roker and Matt Lauer did double duty for quite some time. Janice Huff continues to work practically every day if you combine her WNBC schedule with her Weekend Today schedule. (Mr. Champion, that means she does the late night weather then gets up early in the morning to do it nationwide.)
Attention New York Station Managers: You heard the mission, now get to the hiring.
