Well, the best song won. Not necessarily my own personal choice, but at least the most voter-friendly song (which by the way was written--at least in part--by a non-Portuguese).

Personally, I was pulling for Ricardo Soler (although he could show at least show some emotion.)

is there really that much bad music in the world? or is portugual just exceptionally good at producing ho-hum songs?
Yes unfortunately that's true, Portugal seems to be in a world of their own when it comes to music..
The only one I can remember being remotely close to acceptable is Alma Lusa in 1998.
