somehow, this news doesn't shock me. maybe because it's relatively liberal connecticut? or because neighboring massachusetts already has a black governor? or because neighboring massachusetts already has barney frank?
sure, connecticut isn't the same as massachusetts, but there's a lot of affinity.
but if there's an openly gay black state legislator representing a constituency that is 96% white (or 96% black, for that matter) somewhere in mississipi, then you can color me shocked.
