It's not that there's a movie about the current president in the works. (Not a surprise.)
It's not that Oliver Stone is doing it. (One would be surprised if he didn't do it.)
It's that he's planning a late 2008 release.
There is something to be said for allowing the perspective of time to take place.

i'm all for it. we really need to start scrutinizing dub-ya (since no one has done a decent job of sizing him up before or after he got into office -- note that i didn't say "got elected into office").
i agree...sometimes it's hard to evaluate history when you're right on top of it (i guess at that stage it's not really history...it's more like current events).
Even if an attempt was made to "be accurate and fair" by choosing scenes and moments as "most important" or "relevant" then the writer/director/editor are making choices.
not that it's bad, but it just can't really be claimed as a fair honest historical portrayl.
