With Newsworld International now sadly torn from US airwaves (thank you, Al), it's rather hard to follow the upcoming elections in Canada...even with my homepage being CBC News. This is a bit disturbing as quite frankly, this is a major election and there's a slew of issues on the table.
Believe it or not, the rumour mill has the Conservatives ahead with the Bloc forming the Official Opposition and the Grits and NDP taking up the slack. Now, in a perfect world, the NDP would win easily or at least form the Opposition. Alas, as we all know, this world is far from perfect.
The thought of a Conservative win is alarming, and I hope that it's a different story by the 26th. Gay marriage, I believe, will not be taken away, but a whole slew of funding cuts and general mismanagement will occur to an albeit slightly less harsh degree as they occur here in the US.
Although my dream to work at CBC continues unabated, this statement by several prominent Canadian actors about funding is a little bit unnerving.
