"Holy Smokes!"
I'm still on sabbatical, but last night I was talking with another ex-Milwaukeean about the Hoan Bridge cracking up several years ago. It's quite a hilarious story.
The Journal-Sentinel is telling the truth, no one thought that the bridge was seriously in need of repairs until somebody called 911 after driving over it and feeling it come apart.

I probably would have said, "OH FUCK"!
At least the Memorial Causeway bridge (at my doorstep) leading to Clearwater Beach started cracking before they had finished building it. Repairs took another year to complete.
I miss your entries.... nothing to smile about as I'm enjoying my morning coffee!
