Oh Please, Please, Please Let It Happen

There is discussion of enacting a $7 surcharge for people who drive in Manhattan below 60th street during peak hours.

I am all for it (and not just because the rich idiot is against it). Let's face facts, this area is covered pretty well with public transportation from Park to 8th Avenues. There is no need for anyone driving a non-commercial vehicle to be in Manhattan.

Out of towners, take the train.

Perhaps I'm a bit gleeful at this possibility, because I have just barely avoided being killed by deranged or inattentive SUV drivers countless times.
